The largest emitters are electricity generation (32.8%), stationary energy (22.2%), transport (20.9%), with the red meat industry is significantly lower source of emissions at around 10.3%.

Feed additives such as red seaweed can significantly reduce methane emissions from cattle.

When fed to cattle, Asparagopsis taxiformis (red seaweed) or the additive Bovaer ® have been shown repeatedly to reduce methane emissions by 80% or more.
