It is safe to consume beef from cattle that have been given Hormone Growth Promotants (HGPs)
HGPs are regulated by the Australian Government, Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA).
Hormones (Oestrogen) levels are negligible in beef produced with HGPs. Food Standards Australia and New Zealand (FSANZ) has demonstrated that you would need to eat 77kg of beef to consume the same level of oestrogen contained naturally in a single chicken egg.
