Environment Forum November 2009 - Can red meat be green?
In November 2009 MLA brought together leading environmental experts to discuss the role of livestock farming and sustainability in feeding a growing population.
School students and key stakeholders were given the opportunity to ask the high profile panellists on the topic: Can red meat be green? The panellists included:
- Professor Tim Flannery, Chair, Copenhagen Climate Council, Professor Macquarie University
- Dr Nick Costa, Professor of Sustainable Agriculture, Murdoch University
- Corey Watts, Regional Projects Manager, The Climate Institute
- Beverly Henry, Manager Environment, Climate Change and Sustainability
- Sam Archer, Livestock Producer
The format was a panel discussion with the speakers providing their views followed by a question and answer session during which students posed their own questions.
The forum was chaired by Chris Russell, regular judge on the ABC TV show, The New Inventors.
